B.I.D. stands for Business Improvement District! A Business Improvement District is a defined area within which businesses agree to pay an additional tax in order to fund projects within the district's boundaries.

The Business Improvement District of Coral Gables is responsible for the marketing and advocacy of Downtown Coral Gables. It is a non-profit (501-c6) and a non-governmental organization. The BID is governed by an elected board of directors consisting of of property owners and business owners as well as ex-officio representatives from the City of Coral Gables. and the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce.
